Meet our Alumni: Linari Medical
Linari Medical produces and commercializes medical devices for neuro visual rehabilitation in Telehealth.
Co-founded by the CEO's Catarina Stimola and Stefano Linari, and CTO, Amedeo Bruni, the company is ready to make some big moves during the 2022 program. Get to know them in the following interview featuring highlights from their experience with VITA and discover how they are striving to transform health with their innovative solutions.
What was the inspiration behind your company and how will your solution change the current healthcare scenario?
Linari Medical was founded at the end of 2019 upon completion of a 10-year clinical research, conducted in collaboration with the Stella Maris Foundation in Pisa, to develop the patented telemedicine neurorehabilitation technology: AvDesk. Thanks to this solution, hundreds of visually impaired patients with cerebral palsy, who would otherwise be forced to live with many limitations and have little autonomy over even the simplest daily tasks, have been rehabilitated directly at home after traumatic events, strokes, and brain tumors.
What are you hoping to achieve during the VITA Acceleration Program?
VITA Accelerator was our first platform to engage with investors, large pharmaceutical companies, and start-ups that are facing the same challenges as us. In this ecosystem, we found that the program mentors provide excellent guidance and support that complements our cultural background while also critically and constructively reviewing all aspects of our company, from our business model to technology and capital raising.
Which program sessions or events have you found most helpful for your company? Could you highlight some milestones or connections made during your time with VITA?
During the program, the VITA mentors have led co-creation sessions with SIFI that have proven to be extremely valuable in that they have allowed us to quickly produce a confluence of experiences, expectations, and strategies that have become the foundation for an innovative method of industry collaboration in the development of our digital therapeutics.
What is the next big move your company will take and where would you like to see yourselves in the next 5 years?
Linari Medical is expanding rapidly throughout Italy and preparing to cross national borders into other European markets, and with our ongoing FDA certification, the American market will follow. In addition to market development, we are conducting rigorous clinical research to verify the effectiveness of AvDesk multi-sensory stimulation for rehabilitation in other conditions such as hearing, dementia and attentional deficits.
