Meet our Startups: HuCare
HuCare is a secure platform that empowers communication between patients and doctors. The startup provides a cloud-based PRM (patient relationship management) conceived around patient and doctor’s needs that connects to a Mobile App developed to streamline medical overhead communication.
Founded by Giacomo Sebregondi, the company is ready to make some big moves during the 2022 program. Get to know them in the following interview featuring highlights from their experience with VITA and discover how they are striving to transform health with their innovative solutions.
What was the inspiration behind your company and how will your solution change the current healthcare scenario?
The health care system is very complex and extraordinarily granular; therefore, every touchpoint has a crucial role and importance. Hospitals can be considered companies therefore able - even if they are often impacted by stressful situations and pressure - to manage collections and shares of data. On the other hand, physicians and small clinics are primarily focused on clinical aspects and are not equipped to initiate the future of healthcare with the resources offered to them today.
HuCare is here to create a solid network of physicians (but also other healthcare professionals, administrative offices, and figures involved in the health care system) and patients/caregivers to streamline, facilitate, and empower information sharing.
What are you hoping to achieve during the VITA Acceleration Program?
Above all, we are here to grow: to strengthen our team's knowledge, expand our network and increase our startup's revenue. We firmly believe enthusiasm is the most powerful engine of any business, but you must know where to go, or otherwise you’ll just waste fuel.
Which program sessions or events have you found most helpful for your company? Could you highlight some milestones or connections made during your time with VITA?
The sessions by Roberto Ascione, CEO of Healthware Group, and Alberta Spreafico, Healthware Group's Global Head of Digital Health, Innovation & Strategy, both had great perspectives and insights on the future of health: the first one visionary and motivational, the second more practical and strategic. Also, in my experience, all the activities collaborating with our corporate partners have been extremely useful. Paolo Borella from the VITA team and Mads Løntoft from Accelerace were key in organizing and addressing the Partner PoC and focusing on how to enhance our equity storytelling and business plan. But these are just a few of the most relevant activities for our team.
What is the next big move your company will take and where would you like to see yourselves in the next 5 years?
Our hope is that through the HuCare platform, patients will have more timely service from the health system and greater access to many healthcare services and digital therapeutics. In the meantime, physicians - with just a few clicks - will have an accurate overview of the patient's status and will more effectively manage all the bureaucratic and administrative aspects. Therefore, our platform could contribute to better therapy adherence by bridging the existing gap between patients and the health care system. HuCare will thus become THE HEALTH AMPLIFIER: a virtuous circle that benefits every stakeholder.
